High Weald Dairy

Campfire Cheese Anyone?

The High Weald Dairy is an award winning family-run business based on the same dairy farm as our West Sussex glamping site. Conveniently placed to buy your campfire cheese, the dairy is just a mile up the hill from the campsite, along Treemans Road. Milk from some of the cows and sheep you see in the fields in sight of the campsite is used here to craft a delicious range of award-winning cheeses. They are renowned in particular for their cheese produced from local sheep and goat milk.

A perfect accompaniment to any campfire is the delicious organic halloumi cheese – sensational grilled and tossed in a summer salad or into a stir fry. The halloumi is also great as a vegetarian alternative to a bacon in a fry up and as pre-dinner stand alone snack. Some of our other favourite campfire cheeses to enjoy around are their Brighton Blue, Sister Sarah and Ashdown Forester – but from a biased perspective we think all of their cheese range is worth trying.

Why not order you camping cheese in advance to be collected on your day of arrival (our wardens can help here with advanced warning). The dairy does not have a dedicated shop but you can buy cheese from their reception during office hours in the week. Or you may talk to the wardens about the Campers’ Cheese Selection they offer for our guests or if you are interested in buying cheese at the weekend.
