Things to do

Pells Pool

Pells Pool is five miles from The Secret Campsite Lewes. It dates from 1860 making it the UK’s oldest freshwater lido. The pool is fed by spring water drawn from beneath the baths and is 50 yards long by 25 yards wide. It is open from early May until mid October but the water is only heated by the sun. So it can get a little chilly for those who are prone to the cold.

There are changing rooms, a sun terrace, cold and warm showers and a paddling pool for the little ones. There’s a large lawn next to the pool and a refreshment kiosk serving ice creams and drinks. So hope for a lovely hot sunny day so you can take full advantage. If you’re travelling from The Secret Campsite Lewes why not stop at Holmansbridge farm shop on the way and take a picnic with you.

Pells Pool also hold events through their season so it’s worth taking a look at their website to see if there is anything on during your visit. You could take part in a pool party, or midnight starry skies swim if you’re brave enough!
