Things to do

Newhaven Fort

Newhaven fort is 12 miles from The Secret campsite Lewes.

It was built 150 years ago to defend the south coast from attacks and infiltrations up the river Ouse. Its impressive ramparts have repulsed attacks during 2 world wars and it is a piece of modern history calling out to be explored. There are fantastic views out across the channel and the likelihood to see modern ferries coming and going as they please.
