Things to do

Drusillas Park

When you’ve finished searching for native nature and wildlife around the campsite you can head to Drusillas Park. Here you can experience something a little more exotic. Drusillas is a great day out during a family camping trip in Sussex. It’s just off the A27 between Lewes and Eastbourne. Around 13 miles from The Secret Campsite Lewes

Drusillas Park is a brilliant little zoo come wildlife park. Their focus is on ‘fun finding out’ so it’s a great way to get the kids excited about animals on your family camping trip. They have a great range of exotic creatures(the Fennec Foxes are my particular favourites). You can watch the animal feeding times, walk through exhibits and learn about the conservation at Drusillas.

There is also an outdoor adventure play area. A jungle play house complete with swing, tramploine and giant snake. A splash park and more! Phew, I think I need to go and find a nice sit spot by the campfire to calm down after this day out.

If that isn’t enough they also have theme park rides for the kids. For the brave amongst you, why not have a snoop around the Hello Kitty Secret Garden, which is very well named.

Rated Europe’s best small zoo, it’s worth checking out if you want to leave the campsite for a bit(though I have no idea why you would!)
