Brighton is a vibrant city on the south coast and is easily accessible from the campsite, by train from Lewes or by car, park in the station car park at Brighton. It has a fantastic pier and a huge variety of interesting independent shops in the Lanes that lead out towards the lively coastal strip at sea level. The i360 is on the borders with Hove and there is a huge range of coffee shops and cafes as well as numerous independent restaurants, a particular well priced favourite being La Choza.
Brighton has an eclectic mixture of people and fashions, culminating in the hugely popular Pride celebrations in August. For those looking to relax, you could try the beach but to be honest you’re better off going to Devils Dyke by bus, but only in the summer.
Best of all Brighton has a strong environmental bent and voted in the UK’s first ever Green MP in 2010.
